The Lace Studio: Traditional Lace - Contemporary Community

Formed in Rothwell in 2018, we moved to Irthlingborough in 2022 and are continuing our work.

We’re still the same friendly lace group with a passion for preserving the art of bobbin lacemaking – just now with a new home in Irthlingborough. Our pillows, bobbins and threads have all made the journey with us, and we’re looking forward to writing a new chapter in this historic Northamptonshire town.

Our Story

Founded with the aim of keeping bobbin lacemaking alive and accessible, Rothwell Bobbins has welcomed complete beginners, experienced makers and curious visitors for over a decade.

Our members range in age and experience, but we all share a love for lace, community and craftsmanship.
